Notes: Ringo (and his wife Maureen) attended a David Bowie concert in July 1973.
This turned out to be the very last "Ziggy Stardust" concert.
The concert was filmed for theatrical release but sat on the shelf until 1979.
The film was made by legendary film maker D. A. Pennebaker.
To recoup some of their costs while the lengthy awaiting post production a short
60 minute edit was shown on the American ABC TV program "In Concert" in October 1974.
The film was finally premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival on August 31, 1979.
The 1979 premiere would be it`s only release until December 1983 when it was finally released
worldwide into cinemas along with the release of its soundtrack album "Ziggy Stardust - The Motion Picture".
It was released on home VHS by MGM in August 1984 and on laserdisc in Japan in 1985.
It made its way onto DVD in Nov 1998 and again in a remastered 30th anniversary edition in March 2003.
It has yet to be issued on Blu-ray.
Ringo is seen briefly in the film whilst visiting Bowie backstage before the concert while David is putting on his make-up.
Ringo and Maureen also attended a party held after the concert which wasn`t filmed.
