Notes: Unexpectedly Ringo managed to co-star in a satirical black comedy film alongside Peter Sellers.
The film, directed by Joseph McGrath, was shot on location around London and at Twickenham Film Studios between March and May 1969.
This was Ringo`s first solo feature film.
The film also had numerous cameos including John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Raquel Welch, Spike Milligan, Christopher Lee, Yul Brynner and Sir Richard Attenborough.
The film was adapted from the novel by Terry Southern.
Music in the film was provided by the Apple band, Badfinger including the movie`s title song "Come and Get it" which was written by Paul.
Ringo landed the role after talking to Dennis O`Dell, who worked for Apple, who told him that Peter Sellers
was trying to get a film made of the book so Ringo had a talk to Peter and it was decided to have Peter and Ringo co-star in the film.
The film despite having many major stars was a relative flop.
It was first released on home VHS in May 1984 and finally on DVD for the first time in January 2003 with it`s the latest DVD release in May 2017.
It was issued on Blu Ray in May 2013 by Olive Films without any bonus features.
