Notes: Paul & Linda and George Martin and his wife were present at a special concert by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Louis Clark performing a selection of Beatles songs.
No doubt this was tied in to the 20th anniversary of the Beatles first single release in October 1962.
In the presence of her majesty Queen Elizabeth and hosted by Joan Collins, Paul and Linda were seen
a few times throughout the TV special but only for just over a minute in total (The whole TV special ran for 55 minutes).
One highlight was Roy Wood playing bagpipes on "Mull of Kintyre"!
This TV special was also briefly made available in 1983 under the title "The Beatles - A Tribute To Their Music With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra"
and re-released again in 1987 as "An Orchestral Tribute To The Beatles" and was also issued on DVD as "Hooked on The Beatles" in 2010.
