Notes: This is from the unedited TV station master tape (in colour) of the Wings Melbourne concert that the "Wings Over Australia" broadcast special was edited from.
This tape surfaced in 1995. The beginning and a few other places on the tape had deteriorated very badly and when this tape was
eventually released onto DVD those bad sections were replaced by the same footage from the Japanese broadcast.
However the story doesn`t end there because in 2019 an upgraded copy of this footage was uploaded onto Youtube.
This copy doesn`t seem to have as much tape deterioration that the previous source had.
This copy is also 7 minutes longer than the previous version and is slightly better quality overall.

Notes: The original Australian broadcast was in black and white and has so far not been bootlegged. It was only a 50 minute edit of the 2 hour concert.
This special was also quickly edited (removing most references to Australia) into a 51 minute version for broadcast, in colour, in Japan on November 30th, 1975 (see below).
"Letting Go" and "Yesterday" from the Australian broadcast were also shown (in colour) in the UK on the TV show "The Old Grey Whistle Test" on May 11, 1976.

Notes: As an "apology" to the Japanese fans for having the Japan tour cancelled, Paul arranged for the Melbourne concert footage
to be hastily edited and sent to Japan so they could broadcast it as a TV special which they did only 17 days after the actual concert. The Australian broadcast of the concert was aired in February 1976.
This Japanese TV special was hosted by two people (a man and a woman) sitting behind a desk surrounded by Wings posters. We believe the special was titled "No Subete".
The broadcast begins with the TV ad for the "Venus and Mars" album followed by some TV commercials.
Then we have the two hosts introducing themselves and then they show the exclusive Paul footage (filmed in a Melbourne hotel room) of his "apology" to the Japanese fans.
Back to the hosts and then into the concert.
All of Paul`s talking between songs has mostly been edited out and the song order has been mixed around too.
Each time after a song or two there are a couple of TV commercials followed by the TV hosts introducing the next segment.
A bit later on the hosts have a short segment on the other three Beatles showing brief clips from the promos of "Stand By Me", "Ding Dong" and "Only You".
Strangely in the middle of the special the hosts show footage from a Japanese protest march of Paul fans demanding he be let into the country.
There are interviews with some fans too.
Then it`s back to the concert. At the end of the special following "Hi, Hi, Hi" they reprise bits of "Yesterday" and "Jet" as the credits begin.
Overall, minus the TV ads, the special runs for just over 69 minutes (including the hosts segments).
The actual concert footage (minus the apology footage) runs 50:56 minutes. Paul`s "apology" is only 33 seconds in length.

This complete Japan TV special broadcast (which is an upgrade to the previous bootlegged version) was uploaded onto Youtube in March 2019 and has yet to be bootlegged.
The DVD version released on the Misterclaudel label had strangely edited back in 5 extra songs (from the unedited raw version) to make a 74 minute version of the concert.
The MCP version runs for 49 minutes.
